Original Copy is a collaborative project between Riccardo Carbone and John Strutton which explores the possibilities of creating time based audio visual works through an interaction and translation of the process of painting and drawing in live performances and online events that play with forms of communication such as séances and magic rituals.

One part of the project uses a windup gramophone as a drawing machine. As the drawing is being made information is gathered through a combination of microphones, cameras and MAX software to produce soundscapes and video material for the performance. Other events have used painting, light boxes, flatbed scanners, spoken word and moving objects to conjure up ghosts in the machine.
